Executive Director
David S. Gordon holds a Masters of Science Degree in Special Education, and has 20 years of experience in education.  Prior to being the Executive Director of LTLF he spent eight years at the Tomorrow’s Children’s Institute, working with children with chronic health conditions and their families, collaborating with teachers, classmates, and school district administrators to ensure each student received the best education possible.  David has functioned as an advisor to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and assisted in updating LLS’s Back to School Program and content.  David participates in numerous research studies, including a study of the long-term cognitive effects of leukemia treatments on children.   Anticipating completion of his Ph.D. in Special Education from Syracuse University by 2011.  He is currently president of the Association of Pediatric Hematology Oncology Educational Specialist (APHOES). David recognizes that the educational needs of children with chronic health conditions are often underserved.  He looks forward to conducting research and involving parents, teachers, and students in the creation of on-line spaces that will significantly improve the education children receive.

The Educators
While many educators are involved with the Living Through Learning Foundation, one special, ongoing contributor is educational research company Performance by Design, Inc.™ (PbyD). Performance by Design’s goal is to challenge and empower every learner to reach his or her optimal life potential. PbyD recognizes that their mission statement takes on special meaning for students with chronic health conditions.

The Specialists in Chronic Health Conditions 
This site is supported by a number of hospital-based educational specialists with experience assisting students with chronic health conditions from preschool to adulthood.  A number of community organization program specialists are also contributing to The Living Through Learning Foundation’s on-line content.
