David and LTLF have given our son more than words can express.
A parent's deepest desire is to watch their children thrive, turning their hopes and dreams into reality as they achieve their potential. When cancer comes calling things do not go as planned.
Our son, James, is a survivor of a pediatric brain tumor that robbed him of a traditional educational route. By the time he reached his mid twenties, he had all but decided a four-year college degree was out of his reach--until we met David Gordon.
Through bi-monthly virtual meetings, James and David began to form short and long-term goals for both college and a subsequent career. Within a few months we saw a spark rekindled--a sense of purpose within our son, a renewed hope in his future and a belief, ever so tender, that he could earn a college degree. David shepherded James through the entire college process, from beginning to end. His guidance and encouragement gave James the confidence to step forward and explore colleges that could meet his educational needs.
Today we are watching our deepest desire come true for our son. He has begun his second semester at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City and is thriving. James not only sees a future for himself but also is living it!
David and LTLF have given our son more than words can express. Our entire family is the beneficiary of this amazing Foundation.
