NY Hall of Science and Hospital Schools Program of NYC

Working in conjunction with the New York Hall of Science through a learning grant, the Living Through Learning Foundation is helping to create Live Science Lab curriculum as well as bring science curriculum to hospitalized students in New York City.  One of the most difficult areas to make up work for a student out with a chronic health condition is a science lab. Typically students in this situation have to receive an exemption from the science lab requirement and are not allowed to graduate with a Regents Diploma.  Our current pilot project will change that experience for students with chronic health conditions as we create a series of virtual life science labs that will meet NY State Department of Education curriculum guidelines.  This program is being piloted at a few key hospital schools across New York City.
